Have 6-7 foot Arborvitae. Planted to close to sidewalk. Want to prune back. What & When should I do ? Thanks / Ron

The best time to prune arborvitae is November through March. (there is also a window in June and July).
Be careful not to cut into old wood that has no needles/green, (like all the way back to the trunk as they can not produce new green growth from this area.
