Emerald ash borer

Asked September 27, 2014, 4:25 PM EDT

Is anyone still tracking the emerald ash borer? It seems we have been infested, every ash tree on the property is either dead or dying. I have seen the bug,( thought it was real pretty until I identified it). We have the D shaped holes in the trees and the tracks under the bark.

The emerald ash borer was first confirmed in Mercer County in 2008 so it has been there for a while. It has now been confirmed in 55 of the 67 counties in Pennsylvania. To my knowledge, the Department of Ag is only using the purple traps in counties where it has not yet been found.
