Frederick County--I have a large Kadota fig bush--6ft high- loaded with figs. Will they ripen?

Figs ripen from mid-September through frost. Whether they ripen depends on if they had a long enough growing season as well as environmental conditions. You will have to wait and see.
Also, Kadota is a cultivar that we do not have a lot of information on. It may require a longer growing period. Celeste, Brown Turkey, Hardy Chicago, Brunswick, Marseilles, and Osborne are some of the most winter hardy cultivars which perform well in Maryland.
