this spring my Honey crisp apple tree failed to flower. do you know why? Now i am wondering how to prune it next year. Can I prune in December? the tree is 8 yrs.

Frost may have been the problem. Has it flowered is the past, honeycrisp is known to not flower for the first years. Yes you can prune in December by removing any dead, crossing branches or water sprouts.
