"feather" pruning yucca

Asked September 17, 2014, 12:20 PM EDT

I recently was in El Paso and saw that landscapers had trimmed yucca leaves, so that the points were feathered. Instead of a razor sharp end, the points were soft and feathery. What is the tool used to do this? Where can I pruchase one?

I checked with the master gardeners in El Paso County and no one has heard of this process. It may be a procedure that is particular to one landscaper. You may want to follow up with a call to the extension office in El Paso County. The contact there is Matthew at 915-860-2515. You can also call the Master Gardeners in that area at 915-566-1276. The person that I talked to in the Master Gardener Program was J. P. Clarke and his email is jpclarke246@yahoo.com . I informed them that you might call about this. They may be able to help you directly.
