We had an interesting insect land on our deck rail. We live just outside Ely MN. It looked like a wasp body with a long curved end much like a scorpion. It had wings that were translucent and legs like a spider with long antennae. I can't seem to find it anywhere. Thank you Kathy

It's pretty hard to identify an insect without a good photo, but I'll take a guess and suggest either a Pelecinid Wasp:

Or an Ichneumanoid Wasp:

I'd love to know if either of these guesses were accurate!

(By the way, if you are really into insects, that last link is the very best. It takes some reading and patience but never fails to produce accurate results)

Thanks for contacting AaE. Please do so again if you have further question.
