Rice in Oregon

Is rice indigenous to Oregon? Is that the same as "native"?

Good afternoon, Here is a short article from the Oregonian that describes some of what is going on in Oregon with wild rice, and that work that Pat Hayes did at OSU a couple decades ago. The wild rice we have here is not like the typical rice that you buy in the store. http://oregonstate.edu/instruct/css/330/four/index2.htm Indigenous and native are almost the same but not quite. The wild rice we grow here is not indigenous meaning it did not originate here.
