Can you help me identify the caterpillars that are currently chewing on this river birch?

Montgomery County Maryland trees and shrubs insect identification dusky birch sawfly

This looks like the a type of sawfly larvae, probably the Dusky Birch Sawfly. They tend to line up along the leaf edge to feed, and then take the 's' shape when disturbed.
