Help please! I am attaching a photo of Echinacea. I fear it has the dreaded "frizzy' disease. It was healthy up until recently when the tops began to sprout on it. Do I have to remove this plant? We have other Echinacea plants that look fine - right now! Thank you! V.Calder

Yes, I am afraid it has Aster Yellows. You do need to remove the plant and destroy it. You also should remove any weeds nearby which could harbor the disease. Please visit this web site for more information: http://blog.lib.umn.edu/efans/ygnews/2012/07/aster-yellows-common-in-cone-f.html
