In goats the gestation is150 days or 5 months. With recovery time we expect most producers to have only one kid crop per year. Under high intensity management some can achieve 3 kid crops in 2 years but that takes very high management levels. The average number of kids is 1.8 born per doe and about 1.6 weaned from a large US data base. The goal is for 2 kids per doe and management impacts this number.
