Morning! We have an old tree stump that has some white mushrooms growing on it. This year, there is a cloud of cinnamon looking powder that is surrounding the area around the mushrooms. I'm wondering what I should do about it. If it's harmless, I don't worry, but I have chickens, a big compost bin and gardens within the area and worry about them (plus dogs, children......)

What you are seeing is probably fungi falling from the underside of the mushroom caps. We are not qualified to diagnose the type of mushroom and whether it is toxic to chicken, etc. I suggest that you contact the Minnesota Mycological Society and request their help: http://www.minnesotamushrooms.org/
