Is pig manure OK to use as fertilizer for my vegetables?

Asked August 6, 2014, 10:49 AM EDT

We are raising a couple of hogs and I dislike the thought of letting the manure go to waste. Can I use the manure for fertilizer in my vegetable garden? Finding many mixed reviews on this. thank you, John Grow

As long as you let the fertilizer decompose before you plant your vegetables.

What I would recommend is putting this on your garden in the fall time, and letting it decompose and then working this into your soil in the spring time.

Good luck
