I have 3 maple trees in my yard that are approx 15 years old. 1 of the trees is loosing it's leaves at the crown and spreading down. The leaves first appear dard/deep red and eventually dry up and fall off. Another tree has a branch that is starting. Can you help diagnose the issue? I have attached a picture of the leave as it starts to dry up

Here is one possibility http://www.extension.umn.edu/garden/yard-garden/trees-shrubs/verticillium-wilt/ Maples are prone to numerous problems, check
http://www.extension.umn.edu/garden/diagnose/plant/deciduous/maple/branchesdead.html for other possible causes. We have over planted maple since loosing all our elms plus the possible loss of our ash trees.
