I still have my poinsettia from Christmas and it still produces red leaves....

I still have my poinsettia from Christmas and it still produces red leaves. It has been sitting in the same kitchen window since January; it is about 15 inches. I just started reading about the plant online and saw that I should have pruned it to 4 -6 inches way back in March in order to have a flowering plant in December. Is it way too late to go through the process I read about or should I leave it be now.
Thank you.

I would just leave it "as is" and see what it does for you. Will possibly form reddish bracts by mid-December, mid-January in Jefferson parish. Protect from cold.
