To date we haven't seen the number or types of butterflies we usually do. No monarchs, no black or tiger swallowtails, no clouded sulphurs. Only an occasional skipper or cabbage white. On our neighborhood listserv the observations are the same across our neighborhoods. It's such a dramatic difference we are wondering how to account for it.

Due to our cold harsh winter many plants as well as insects are late this year about several weeks. Keep looking.
