Hello!

Thanks for your question! By adding organic material, like worm castings from vermicompost, you are putting vital nutrients back into the soil as well as improving conditions like fertility, moisture retention, soil structure while also soil compaction. Vermicompost may not be a "remedy" (meaning, it may not take non-fertile soil and turn it into fertile soil) but it can definitely improve the soil conditions. If you have access to a soil test, that may help you know what nutrients your soil is lacking and you can work to add back in those things in addition to incorporating more organic matter like vermicompost.

I hope this helps. Thanks!
