Asked July 23, 2014, 11:02 AM EDT

We are a self managed Homeowner's association seeking help with planning the control of Phragmite growth in two wetland areas within our subdivision in the Farmington Hills/Northville Area (Preserves of Meadowbrook). We would like to consult with an expert on this matter before proceeding with control methods.

Here's a link to a nice booklet on Phragmites: http://www.michigan.gov/documents/deq/deq-ogl-Guide-Phragmites_204659_7.pdf

For expert advice, you might contact Sue Tangora, Wildlife Biologist at the Michigan DNR. She's been involved with management and control of this plant as well as other invasives. Her contact information is: tangoras@michigan.gov; 517-241-1153.
