My strawberries are being eaten by a little black caterpillar. How do I control? Will it affect other vegetables growing in the garden
The easiest method to control it is to pick them off and either smash them or dispose of them away from the garden. Without seeing the insect in order to correctly identify it, it is difficult to determine what other host plants (garden plants) the insect may eat. Applications of Bacillus thuringiensis will provide control when the caterpillars are small and spinosad is a product available when they are larger in size. Both products are commonly available.
