I have a large beech hedge surrounding the garden and I would like to reduce the height by several feet so that it is more manageable. It must be at least 8feet high and 5 feet would be better. I live in the north of england

Outside United States

Dear Gardener,

Beech hedges are commonly found in the UK, however they do not grow in my area of Ontario, Canada. This page from the Royal Horticultural Society may help with how to prune as well as the timing: http://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?pid=83 You might contact the RHS id you have additional questions.

I hope this information is helpful.

Regards,
