We have a couple of spruce trees that seem to be dying, or at least losing their needles-mainly at the top of the tree. One seems to have some lost needles about 3/4 of the way up, but then, on top, it's okay. One other one has lost many of its needles. I would say the trees are twenty to twenty-five feet high. They were planted in 1989. We have some pictures if that would be any help. Robert Benz, Cannon Falls, MN

Many things can cause the symptoms you have mentioned. Photos would help, including closeups of affected branches.
