Hello, from the image, it is difficult to the which species it is but it looks like a root weevil. These are very common landscape beetles that make characteristic notches on leaves. The larvae feed on roots. They are harmless and are probably entering the home by accident. Closing gaps in windows, underneath exterior doors or gaps in the foundation wall will help reduce the number entering your house.

Thanks!
