What kind of bug is this? I am the garden maintenance head at the mn science museum. This bug was found all over in the garden

Sorry about the delay in answering (this was a tough one) we think the insect in the photo is the larva of a kind of leaf beetle. I have no idea what species. The family is probably Chrysomelidae. It would help to know the size of the specimen and the kinds of plants found in the vicinity. If there are a great many of these larvae around, the host plants ought to be showing damage.
