David Mead Log Cabin

Asked July 2, 2014, 11:10 AM EDT

I am chair of the David Mead Log Cabin Preservation Committee. You may have seen the article in today's paper re: our fundraising and repairs now being done on this historic landmark. While the cabin is being spruced up the grounds do need some work. We wondered if the Master Gardeners might be interested in this project. We have drawings from 1988 showing the landscape plans. There is space for a garden....vegetables, herbs and or / flowers, perhaps species that were common to the period ( 1788-?) this could be made an educational tool along with the visits to the cabin.
