Any clue what this plant is and if it's safe for me to touch?
Thank you for the question. From the photo, it appears your weed is a burdock. This is a biennial weed that in its first year puts up large leaves similar to rhubarb. The second year it flowers and the flower heads ripen into burs that stick to everything resulting in its ability to spread far and wide by riding on animal fur or people's clothing. It can cause skin irritations to people, so wear gloves and long sleeves and try to dig it up, removing at least 2 inches of root below the soil line. If it does come back next year, mow it before it flowers. It is on the Minnesota Noxious weed list. Read here for more information:
