Is there a way to speed up the opening of cut flower buds? We are having a late spring and I need a lot of flowers for a wedding June 21st. I am especially interested in Peonies

Yep, you can soak the flower stems in warm water. Not boiling, but above room temperature. something around 90-100 degrees F. They should open. When they just start to open, cut the bottoms again and replace them in cool water. You may want to add an additive to the cold water to keep them longer, Similar to this:

In crystal or liquid form, they keep the flowers fresh longer.
