6/11/2014 How do I order your Extension bulletin #237? I have Buttercups in full bloom +, they seem to have out competed hay/grass? My elevation is 5400'. Does "Topping" at this point help? Sounds like spraying in fall at this point will be most effective? I need to recondition this pasture. Is it true that round-up will not effectively kill this weed? Also I have read that by disturbing the ground as tilling, actually can encourage the buttercups as they are a ?corm? Can I amend soil (suspect will need lime and fertilizer) and then harrow/rake ground now and try to establish some grass during this summer season, then spray for buttercup in fall? Does this sound like a good plan? or do I have to wait until next year/fall to reseed. The area I need to work is about 2.5-3 acres?
