You have some excellent sources for nutrients, but they must be used carefully. Wood ash is a good source of potash, a necessary nutrient, but when used in excess, it can change the pH of the soil and mess up the other nutrients. Do not spread more that about 25 pounds of wood ash over 1,000 sq. feet. Chicken manure is an excellent source of nitrogen, but don't put it around your plants when it is fresh. It is much 'too hot' and could burn the plants. If you mix the manure with the bedding and allow it to rot (compost) for several months, you will have an excellent source of compost that contains lots of useful nutrients.
