Purchased Virginia sweetspire Little Henry late April. At that time there was some leaf damage which i attributed to a late frost. Shrubs show new growth and even some flowers but many new leaves are showing spots and sometimes wrinkling or curling. Shrubs were planted with generous amount of compost mixed with existing soil. There is some clay about 8 inches down. Mostly sunny with early morning and late afternoon shade. These are supposed to be trouble free species, can you help identify the problem?

Baltimore County Maryland shrubs itea possible leaf spot

The photo of the itea looks like it may be subject to a possible leaf spot. This can be common depending on weather conditions. We have been getting reports of this. At this point, no control is necessary. Keep the shrubs watered during dry periods. Rake up any fallen leaves.
