Is it too late to divide my hostas?
I need to move some hostas around. I originally planted them too close together and now I need to spread them out. They are up and growing. Is it too late in the year already to transplant them? Thank you.

The best time to transplant, or split hostas is in early spring, just as the plant is beginning to show some growth. But hostas are a hardy group of plants and if you do a good job of digging around the plant to get most of the roots you can successfully move them just about any time of year.
