We have a windbreak of spruce that is about 25 years old. Almost every tree is dying. We didn't plant the windbreak, but the spruce appears to be either white or green spruce. Years ago we were told it was needlecast but if so, spraying all of them seemed too difficult for us. Over the years I have planted Norway spruce, and it appears none of them are affected. Is Norway spruce less vulnerable? This is an overwhelming task to take all of these down, but can needlecast kill a whole windbreak? If we don't get them all down, will they affect the Norway spruces?
