A broiler chicken (meat type bird) is usually ready to butcher at around 6 weeks of age and weighing around 4 pounds. This is assuming that they are confined in an enclosed area and on full feed. If the chickens are allowed to roam on pasture, etc. they will take longer to reach butchering size.
