Can I transplant milkweed?

Can I transplant milkweeds that were growing wild all over a friends yard? What would be the best location for them?

Yes, you can. Select the smallest plant or plants you can as they are difficult to transplant and you'll have the best luck with smaller plants.
Dig so you have a rootball that extends outward a few inches on all sides of the stem. You want a good sized rootball to be successful.
Milkweed grows naturally in moist areas, so you will want to find a moist spot in your yard or make sure that the planting area stays moist (but not soggy).
Good luck!
