We have a number of oak trees on a 1/2 acre lot in Washington Grove, MD. We love our trees, but they periodically lose branches, more frequently now that we seem to have more severe storms. We're looking for someone who can help us assess their health rather than just tell us to cut them down. Can you advise?

We recommend that you contact tree service companies which have an arborist on staff who is certified by the International Society of Arboriculture. These are trained arborists and have continuing education. Companies do not charge to come look at the trees, only for any service they perform.

Here is a link to the International Society of Arboriculture. Click on "Search for a Certified Arborist" and follow the prompts to find out what tree service companies near you have certified arborists.
