Summercrisp requires cross-pollination from a different pear cultivar that blooms at the same time. Summercrisp blooms at the same time as Patten and Parker, two to four days earlier than Luscious. 'Luscious' is pollen-sterile so it cannot be used to pollinate summercrisp. http://www.extension.umn.edu/garden/yard-garden/fruit/summercrisp-pear/ http://www.extension.umn.edu/garden/yard-garden/fruit/apples-and-pears-in-minnesota-home-gardens/
