bleeding heart

I planted a bleeding heart this year and wondered how long it takes to maturity. I planted it from root and don't see any growth yet. Should I have started from a plant instead.

It is possible to divide a bleeding heart in spring. When dividing plants, each division should have a portion of the crown and root system. A division that does not contain a portion of the plant's crown will not grow.

If no growth appears in 10 to 14 days, the initial planting was not successful. Potted plants are available at garden centers.
