I am trying to replace dozens of European Buckthorns with native shrubs & small trees, one of which is American Highbush Cranberry. Can I grow this American cranberry bush (Viburnum trilobum)in shade or semi shade?

Ramsey County Minnesota

You are to be commended. I know it is a lot of work but it is so much better for birds and the ecosystem if you eliminate the buckthorn. Viburnum trilobum does grow in part shade.
