A birdbath which we've used for years has suddenly been inundated by bees which seem to be striving on the water. Is this a natural occurrence, of short duration??? Thank you for your help.

During hot days bees are looking for water and may find an easily accessible source close to their nest/hive. If they get trained to this location then you might see them visiting your bird bath on hot days. If you do not want the bees to come to the bird bath then you may have to remove the bird bath for a week, so that those bees will find another source somewhere else. Once they get used to the other new location you may not see them visiting your birdbath in big numbers.Thanks.
