Grassy Weeds in my hay meadow

Asked May 6, 2014, 3:48 PM EDT

I grow coastal Bermuda for my horses and those of friends. Since the drought, I have a crop of weeds invading. I don't know the names of all of them, some are wild oats, some are grassy weeds with spur like seeds that break apart and get into your socks, some have seeds like caterpillars. What publication or book would I go to find out the correct name of these weeds and what to do about them? How could I get the book or publication?

The grasses you are referring to are probably Texas Winter Grass, Rescue Grass, or Little Barley. The grasses in question can be treated with Pastora: however, these grasses are winter grasses and should be short lived.
