Is it safe to use pressurized lumber in my raised vegetable beds?

Yes, it is safe to use pressure treated lumber for raised beds to grow vegetables. Arsenic was the problem and in 2003 the EPA banned CCA pressure treated lumber for consumer use. Pressure treated lumber manufactured for consumer use after that date does not have arsenic in it. If in doubt, ask your lumber company about the lumber you are purchasing. If you have further concerns you could line your beds with landscape fabric before filling with soil.
