Bradford pear - poisonous to dogs?

Asked April 25, 2014, 7:50 PM EDT

Hi! Thanks for your help with this! There's a Bradford pear tree flowering near a friend's lanai and her Yorkie is really drawn to licking the leaves and flower pedals. Is that a problem for dogs?

Pears are not toxic to dogs. If the dog were to eat a lot of the leaves and fruits they might vomit but that is about all.
I wonder if the dog is licking the leaves if there was honey-dew from aphids on the leaves that is sweet to he taste??
