How to find and plant berries in central Texas

Asked April 20, 2014, 11:50 PM EDT

I live between off of FM 2484 near Stillhouse Lake in Central Texas. being west of IH 35 the top soil is sparse due to the great crop of rocks and limestone. I am building elevated beds so that we can plant berry bushes. Where can I find bushes that will tolerate the heat in central Texas. I also need to know what type of soil will be best suited for growing berries. I love dewberries, blackberries and raspberries. I would prefer thornless stock if possible. Help?

I am not sure . please send me your contact info and I will assign a Master Gardener to that task. Many of the MG are specialists in those areas.
