My co-worker lives in Frederick, Md, and was saying that they're losing many of their Austrian Pines to some disease. She's heard the same problem is occuring in New Jersey. Can you tell us what it is and whether or not there's anything she can do about it?

Seems when Austrian pines get to about 18 years old, they develop a tip blight, called Sphaeropsis or diplodia tip blight.See the attached photo for a description and prognosis. http://plantdiagnostics.umd.edu/level3.cfm?causeID=987
