Broad leaf control

Asked March 5, 2014, 8:10 PM EST

I plan to plant tetraploid ryegrass this spring and would like to know if I can use a broad leaf control product similar to "Weed Be Gone" on this rye. Pat Walsh

As per research data, tetraploid ryegrasses can be treated with broadleaf herbicides after they have been well established. Do not apply broadleaf and/or crabgrass pre-emergent herbicides prior to seeding or germination can be adversely impacted. As a rule, broadleaf herbicides can be applied to new turf after it has been mowed 4-5 times.
