Honey bee hives

Asked January 26, 2014, 11:59 AM EST

When we bought our property in DRW the owners left several small wooden hives behind. I am expanding my garden to include more flowers to attract pollinators this year but I am wondering if I should go hang these hives on the property somewhere and if so, where is the best location to attract honey bees? We have 10 acres and lots of wooded areas nearby as well as a large field. Thanks! April

Thank you for your question. From your question it is not very clear if the wooden hives that you are referring to are for honey bees or if they are wood blocks with holes drilled to attract mason bees.
