I was given a rosemary plant at Christmas

Asked January 16, 2014, 3:57 PM EST

Would like to harvest the leaves, but would like to wash them, not sure what may have been sprayed on them. Is there a good method to do this? Also, what to do to get another harvest? Thank you,

Herbs can be fun to grow inside! Rosemary may be cut and washed in warm water and then dried before use. Once cut, rosemary, along with most herbs will regrow and you may continue snipping/cutting it as you want to use it. The link below has information on general care and culture of herbs. http://www.extension.umn.edu/garden/yard-garden/vegetables/herbs/If you wish, the plant could be moved outside, either in a pot or directly into the garden for the warmer summer months. But, of course, the plant can also remain in the house through all seasons. Good luck!
