Model curriculum for school gardens

Asked January 6, 2014, 11:34 AM EST

We have several large raised school garden beds at our elementary school. We also have volunteers and funding for projects. What we are lacking is interest from teachers. Basically, 1) they want to know how to integrate with Texas curriculum standards and 2) Many seem to have never been around gardens. We are trying to use training by Urban Harvest in Houston, but the best interest would be from teachers (who don't seem to go outside!). Do you have a model curriculum lessons for Texas k-5 educators? Thanks!

Try this Junior Master Gardener program http://jmgkids.us/ and in particular "Grow Eat Go' http://groweatgo.tamu.edu/jmg/ may fit better.
