Apple Tree Love

Asked November 23, 2013, 6:11 PM EST

Hello! We inherited an old, neglected apple tree and would like help with a plan to restore it. Is that something that any Master Gardeners might be interested in helping us with? Thank you!! Lindsay

Thank you for your question to Ask and Expert.

Unfortunately, Master Gardeners are not able to help with individual gardeners' pruning projects.

Here is a publication that might be helpful:

You should definitely consider the pruning as a multi-year project to get the tree under control and bearing harvestable fruit.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.
