Should grow lights be turned on 24/7?

Regarding seedlings, do you keep the artificial lights turned on 24/7 or just during the day? Thanks.

Once the seeds have germinated and the shoots come up, the seedlings should receive 14-16 hours of strong light each day. A timer is the easiest way, or you can simply turn the lights on in the morning and off when you go to bed. Please note, it is impossible to replicate natural sunlight, so be sure to place the light source 1-2" above the seedlings. Please read the following page from our Grow-It-Eat-It website.
