Seed Availability?

Where can we purchase seeds for the vegetable varieties that are recommended in your (Aggie Horticulture) publications?

Please call the Dallas County Extension office Master Gardener Help Desk, 214-904-3053. They will know the best places. I live in Tarrant County. But start by calling independent nurseries such North Haven, Nicholson-Hardie, Redenta’s Garden. Even Home Depot and Lowes will have seeds.

Variety recommendations change every few years. If you cannot find the varieties, do not be discouraged.

Time to plant, soil preparation, irrigation and sunlight are the most important elements for making a successful vegetable garden. Here around December first it is not too late to plant lettuce, spinach, and cilantro from seed and swiss chard, kale, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, mustard green, turnip green from transplants.
