My husband was out in our yard yesterday afternoon and he saw this guy on our well walking around and has never seen one like htis before. He asked me to email you guys to find out and see if you know what type of spider it is? He asked me to let you know that the yellow bubble on the spider is the body. Pretty wild looking. Thank you in advance!

The spider in photo looks like a Marbled Orbweaver, Araneus marmoreus. The females vary in length and have very large abdomens. The spider may be getting ready to lay eggs, if it has not done so already. The webs are found in trees, shrubs, tall weeds, and grasses in moist wooded settings and frequently along the banks of streams. The spider is benefical because it feeds on many pest insects and is not poisonous.
